    and welcome to IEEE-Tech, the Texas A&M University Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution (ETID) student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)! Below is a little about us:

    Engineering Technology:

    "Engineering Technology is the profession in which knowledge of the applied mathematical and natural sciences gained by higher education, practical experience, and competence developed in a specific field is devoted to application of engineering principles and the implementation of technological advances for the benefit of humanity through its focus on product improvement, manufacturing, and automation of technological processes and operational functions" (ASEE).

    IEEE-Tech:

    The Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers - Technology (IEEE-Tech) is a University recognized student organization aimed specifically at students majoring in Electronics Engineering Technology, and members of the Engineering Technology family. IEEE-Tech's vision, "Get Connected," finds its roots within the tireless faculty and thirsty students, to which end we represent the EET social arm. IEEE-Tech provides Parts Store convenience, social activities such as the Semi-annual Golf Classic and paintball tournaments, as well as Industry-sponsored informational meetings and leadership opportunities.
